Up to 64 tracks of 24-bit digital Recording and Mixing are available, using non-volatile and seamless editing entirely performed within the digital domain. Dark Tower employs high-quality 24-bit digital stereo effects processing from such leading-edge manufacturers as Digidesign, Roland, T.C. Electronic, Lexicon, Waves, Line 6, Antares, Boss, Behringer, Yamaha, WaveMechanics, Sonic Foundry Direct X, and IVL Technologies - to name a few. Some of Dark Tower Digital Mixing capabilities include onboard dynamic automation, versatile signal routing, an input capacity of up to 108 channels and 42 possible XLR mic inputs. Each mic input feeds into its own professional-quality, phantom-powered, mic pre-amplifier yielding low noise and high headroom. Additionally, up to 78 line inputs provide near-limitless recording applications. Ultra-accurate editing, additional digital signal processing, and other mixing applications are performed within the digital environment of Digidesign’s Pro Tools 24/MIXplus. Digital Editing, sound correction, equalization, and enhancement before final transfer to your CD-R Master. Pre-Mastering is the bridge between your mixdown source and the CD pressing plant. This process will allow you another opportunity to further enhance or correct the sound quality of your product, before committing to a final Master. Dark Tower offers the latest and most efficient methods and tools to improve your "final sound", such as the Sonic Solutions Mastering System, Roland's V-Xpanded Mastering Tool Kit and RSS, Behringer Stereo Surround and 3-D Imaging, and Dark Tower's own Avatar Panospheric Enhancement System. Digital assembly and sequencing of completed mixdown source to a final CD-R or DAT Master. Mastering is performed with spectacular precision and fidelity, utilizing Apogee UV22 Super CD Signal Encoding, in conjunction with Digidesign's Pro Tools 24/MIXplus, Sonic Foundry's CD Architect 4.0, Roland's V-Xpanded Mastering Tool Kit, and Adaptec software. The "One-Off CD" or CD-R is the format of choice by most professionals. A CD-R can be listened to on any ordinary CD player, which means that the actual Master can be tested outside of the studio environment before replication. Dark Tower can ensure that every CD will sound exactly like the original Master, with a considerably less ratio of defects or disc "eccentricities". This process functions similarly to Pre-Mastering, producing a digital transfer from an original Master source (whether that source is analog or digital) to a new and improved digital form. Re-Mastering is performed with the same parameters available for Pre-Mastering. This process involves a direct transfer from one format to another. Dark Tower can perform Analog-to-Digital transfers with most analog sources such as 4-track, 8-track, 16-track, vinyl record, and VHS HI FI to CD-R, TDIF-format Hi-8 Tape, or DAT. Digital-to-Digital transfers can be performed with Audio CD/CD-R, DVD-Audio, Laserdisc, SDII and AIFF-format CD-Rs, JAZ cartridges and ZIP cartridges, TDIF-format Hi-8 Tape, or DAT to CD-R, TDIF-format Hi-8 Tape, or DAT. Internet Audio Content Authoring Dark Tower can convert your selected tracks or media into a Liquid Audio, Real Audio, MP3, or .WAV format for placement on the Internet.
